HAVERSTRAW, N.Y. – Carmen Luz de Jesus Cruz Rodriguez, a resident of Haverstraw, died Saturday, July 9. She was 79.
He was born in Bayamón Puerto Rico to Maria Cruz & Jesus de Jesus. She later settled in Haverstraw, where she created a loving home and raised eight children, mostly on her own.
She is survived by her children, David Rodriguez, Juan A. Miranda (Lisa), Carmen Iris Fernandez (Juan A), Carmen Gloria Fernandez (Miguel), Olga Miranda and Juan R. Miranda (Debra); grandchildren, Amber, Itamarie, Tyler, Louie lee, Yanira, Anthony, Miguelito, Alessandra, Amanda, Alexander, Alina, Brianna, Brittney; five great-grandchildren; brother, Pablo de Jesus; and Lydia Chinea.
She was predeceased by her parents Maria Cruz and Jesus de Jesus; sons, Jaime and Alfredo; and grandson, John Anthony Miranda.
The family will be receiving friends and relatives from 5-9 p.m. Thursday at the TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home, 133 Broadway, Haverstraw. She will be laid to rest Friday at Mount Repose Cemetery, Haverstraw.
